π¬ How to Create a New Warehouse and Zones
π Step-by-Step Guide
1οΈβ£ Access Zone Management
From the main menu, go to:
Warehouse β Zone Management
2οΈβ£ Add a New Warehouse or Zone
- Click Add Zone (bottom-left corner of the screen)
- On the right-hand panel, fill in the required details:
- Zone/Warehouse Name
- Dimensions (if applicable)
- Type and other properties
β οΈ Note:
When creating physical zones, make sure the first selection in the physical zone type is βWarehouseβ.
3οΈβ£ Nested Zones & Physical Limits
- If you are creating nested zones (e.g., shelves inside a warehouse):
- You must define Length, Width, Height, and Weight
- The system checks if the dimensions of nested zones exceed the parent zone or warehouse
- If they do, the system will block the save operation and display an error
4οΈβ£ Accounting Integration (Optional but Important)
To enable warehouse-specific stock tracking in the Accounting module:
- Select a Project for this warehouse
- You can assign the project from:
- Accounting Module β Subsidiary Accounts β Projects
- You can assign the subsidiary account from :
- Accounting Module β Subsidiary Accounts
Once linked:
- Every journal entry related to this warehouse will carry this project tag and account
- When products are moved between warehouses, the system tracks both value and quantity separately using project-based journals and different subsidiary accounts
π§ Reminder:
If no project / subsidiary account is selected, all stock values from all warehouses will be aggregated in accounting.
5οΈβ£ Save the Warehouse
Once all information is entered, click Save to create the warehouse.
6οΈβ£ Creating Nested Zones
- To create zones within a warehouse (e.g., racks, bins):
- Double-click the warehouse name in the Zone Management list
- Then repeat the same steps to Add Zone, just like before
- These nested zones inherit the hierarchy and are validated for dimension constraints
β Best Practice:
Use structured naming and clear dimensional logic when creating nested zones for optimal performance in tracking, inventory audits, and automation rules.
